Redesigning the hospital experience for healthcare professionals, helping them spend less time on administrative tasks and more time caring for patients.

Role: Senior Product Designer
Industry: Healthcare
Duration: 1 Year
Outcome: Improved healthcare workflows by reducing administrative effort and supporting better patient care.
Context
Healthcare professionals work under constant pressure.
Every minute spent navigating fragmented systems or repetitive administrative tasks is a minute taken away from patient care.
The challenge wasn’t simply designing another healthcare application. It was creating digital tools that supported healthcare professionals in delivering better care under demanding conditions.

My Role
As Senior Product Designer, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team throughout the entire product lifecycle.
My work included user research, workshop facilitation, interaction design, rapid prototyping, usability validation and implementation support, working closely with healthcare professionals and technical teams.

The Challenge
Healthcare environments are highly regulated, operationally complex and time-sensitive.
Design decisions needed to balance usability, clinical workflows and technical constraints while minimizing interruptions to professionals already working under pressure.
The objective wasn’t simply improving efficiency—it was helping professionals dedicate more of their time and attention to patients.
Our Approach
We started by understanding clinical workflows before designing interfaces.
Through research sessions, observation and collaborative workshops, we identified friction points affecting healthcare professionals during their daily routines.
The solution evolved iteratively through rapid prototyping, usability validation and close collaboration with engineering, ensuring each design decision addressed real operational needs.

Outcomes
The redesigned experience simplified daily workflows, reducing administrative effort and improving the usability of critical healthcare systems.
Beyond improving operational efficiency, the project helped healthcare professionals spend less time interacting with software and more time focused on patient care.
The resulting solution became part of the company’s healthcare platform, supporting hospitals across Latin America certified by KLAS.
